Casual Teachers - Expression of Interest

Intelligo Academy seeks 'Expressions of Interest' for casual teachers for various high school subjects.  

We seek to register a network of casual teachers available to work between 5 and 40 hours per week in 2024. This is an opportunity to join an education organisation at a grassroots level, shape its direction and create a life-long impact through education.

Applicants must be available for face-to-face teaching and have the right to work in Australia. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Applications are welcome from candidates who have the following:

• Genuine passion for teaching students facing educational disadvantage
• Demonstrated commitment to research-based and out-of-the-box teaching methods
• Teacher accreditation, undergoing postgraduate studies (MTeach) and/or relevant industry experience
• Current Working With Children (WWC) approval
• Previous teaching/coaching/mentoring experience
• Extensive knowledge of the current NESA curriculum in chosen subjects
• High-level organisational and communication skills
• Willingness to work independently with minimum supervision and collaboratively

You will be responsible for:

• Teaching regular and ad-hoc classes
• Assessing student progress
• Increasing student confidence
• Boosting student self-esteem
• Setting long-term goals and strategies to achieve them while overcoming adversity
• Developing and implementing teaching and learning strategies
• Developing and implementing teaching materials
